Stomp Out the Silence of Autism & Disabilities Assisted Living Facility and Respite Center

Currently, state and federal funding providing assistance to families with autistic children with IQs over 70 can end when that child turns 21, leaving the family to shoulder much, or all, of the financial burden of providing care for the autistic adult for his/her entire life. This creates a crisis situation for many families.

SOS-AD is pleased to announce the opening of the first Assisted Living Facility for autistic adults with IQs over 70 in the State of Colorado, and one of only a handful nationwide specializing in the care of people with this disability. The SOS-AD Assisted Living Facility is located in Douglas County on 40 acres in a serene valley with views of Pikes Peak and the front range.

The Facility will be staffed with highly qualified and trained professionals who will provide a broad array of services:

  • Horse Therapy
  • Behavioral Therapy
  • Life and Social Skill Instruction

Financial assistance will be on a case by case basis. SOS-AD will have each adult with autism apply for different Medicaid waivers. Most may not qualify. Those who do qualify could end up on a wait list because of the lack of funding
